２冊とも、最近邦訳を読んだもの。「原書でなくちゃぁ」などと大それたことは思っていないが、いろいろな用語や表現を知るのに役に立ちそう。内容が内容だけに、「邦訳に際して削除された部分」は期待できない。
『Extraordinary Popular Delusions & the Madness of Crowds (Wordsworth Reference)』 Charles Mackay
これは、（おそらく）邦訳の出ていない本。上記のカールセーガンの本の中で参照されていたもの。邦訳はないのに、書名が訳されていたので、ちょいと探すのに苦労したけど、たしか「チャールズ・マッカイ」で検索したのだと思う。
実際どんな本なのかは、まだよくわからない。 skepticっぽい話としては、
-Fortune Telling
-The Withc Mania
-The Alchymist
などがある。
初版は 1841年に書かれている。こういう話は古くならないのだろうなぁ。
